⚡ Quick start guide
1
Install & pin LinkLens
Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store. Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar, then pin LinkLens so it's always one click away.
2
Visit any site you own
Navigate to the homepage of the site you want to audit. LinkLens will auto-fill the URL for you.
3
Choose settings & start
Pick your page limit (up to 50) and render mode. Fast works for most sites. Use Full for React / Vue / Angular SPAs.
4
Explore the dashboard
The audit dashboard opens automatically when the crawl finishes. Browse the Live Site Map, Internal Links, PageRank, Meta Audit, and more.
General FAQ
Is LinkLens really free? ▼
Yes, completely free. There are no paid tiers, no usage limits beyond the 50-page crawl cap, and no credit card required. Just install and use it.
Does LinkLens send my data anywhere? ▼
No. All crawling and analysis runs entirely inside your browser. Crawl results are saved to
chrome.storage.local on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server. See the Privacy Policy for the full details. How many pages can I crawl? ▼
Up to 50 pages per crawl. You can set a lower limit if you want a faster, targeted audit.
Can I use it on any website? ▼
Technically yes, but you should only audit sites you own or have explicit permission to audit. LinkLens respects
robots.txt by default. Using it on sites without permission may violate their terms of service. How do I delete my crawl data? ▼
Uninstalling the extension automatically wipes all locally stored data. You can also clear individual crawls from within the extension dashboard. There is no remote data to delete — it only ever exists on your device.
Crawling FAQ
Which render mode should I use? ▼
Fast — uses fetch + DOMParser. Fastest option. Works for traditional server-rendered sites.
Auto — smart fallback. Tries Fast first and switches to Full if the page appears JavaScript-heavy.
Full — opens a real browser context for each page to capture the post-hydration DOM. Use this for React, Vue, Angular, or any SPA. Slowest but most accurate.

The crawl seems slow — what can I do? ▼
Try switching to Fast render mode. Full render mode opens a real browser tab per page, which is significantly slower. Also check if the site has many large pages — the 15-second timeout per page applies.
Some pages are missing from the crawl — why? ▼
Pages can be missed if they are: blocked by
robots.txt, not linked from any other crawled page (orphans), behind a login, dynamically loaded via JavaScript (try Full render mode), or take longer than 15 seconds to respond. Can I crawl a site I'm not currently on? ▼
Yes. The URL field in the popup is editable — just type or paste any URL and start the crawl.
Reports & Exports FAQ
What does the PageRank score mean? ▼
LinkLens computes an internal PageRank — a measure of how much link equity each page receives from other pages on the same site. It uses a 40-iteration power method with a damping factor of 0.85. A score of 100% means that page is at the very top of the equity hierarchy. It is not Google's PageRank — it models the same concept but uses only your site's internal link graph.
What is an orphan page? ▼
An orphan page is a page that no other page on the site links to. Google and other crawlers discover pages by following links, so orphan pages may never be found or indexed. The Orphans tab lists all of them and helps you decide where to add links.
How does the CSV export work? ▼
Click the Export button in the dashboard toolbar. A CSV file with 22 columns — including URL, title, description, H1, PageRank, inbound count, outbound count, word count, click depth, canonical, and more — is generated locally and downloaded straight to your device. Nothing is uploaded.
How do I export a PDF report? ▼
Use your browser's built-in print function (
Ctrl+P / Cmd+P) and choose Save as PDF. The dashboard is designed to print cleanly.Still need help?
